43rd Streak: Network secure protocol day
Finished Networking Secure Protocols on THM today—streak at 43 days! Learned about SSL/TLS, SSH, and VPNs. It’s fascinating to see how these protocols secure data and I understood how port numbers work.
I can understand how a VPN works and why it is important for companies. VPN isn’t just for Netflix. Lol!
And everywhere I see SSL, but I haven’t read about TLS, but today when I studied TLS, my brain was like waaaaaaattt???
I thought HTTPS, FTPS, SFTP, POP3S, IMAPS were secured versions of their respective protocols, but today I learned how they are secured. It's all because of our majesty, TLS. TLS is the hero behind most of the secured data transfer and communication.
Also, I’ve learned how an open-source OpenSSH contributed to today's Internet world.
If I come across this line in the future, "The site is not secure", I know what is causing the issue. 🤖
